As a home-grown director of the new generation, Li Ruijun, born in 1983 in Gansu Province, China, has so far completed six feature-length films, among which Fly with the Crane has been screened at Venice’s Horizons, and River Road at the competition section of Tokyo International Film Festival as well as Crystal Bear of the Berlin International Film Festival. His films have won numerous awards in multiple international film festivals. Walking Past the Future is his fifth feature-length film, at the UN CERTAIN REGARD of Cannes International Film Festival. Return to Dust is his sixth feature-length film, at the competition of the Berlin International Film Festival, in which his film aesthetics and unique perspective continue to shape the story like no others.
