Cinema is the creators' cry to the world; its life cycle is only completed when it receives a response from the audience. Through continuous viewing, discussion, and dialogue, cinema and the world it inhabits have advanced together through waves of change for over a century.
Since its inception, the Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) has embraced the openness, diversity, and inclusivity of the Free Trade Port as its core pursuit, striving to facilitate dialogues that span across industries, cultures, and various fields in Hainan. In this process, the participation and support of our media guests are crucial. It is the infinitely diverse voices of the media that provide the HIIFF and the filmmakers who journey here with encouragement and momentum.
The 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) is set to open as scheduled in December. We once again open our doors to our media friends, inviting you to join us under the sunshine and sea breeze to experience a feast of cinema, and to transform viewing, reflection, and conversation into a collective strength.
Media Guest Privileges
1. Access to the workspaces and related facilities of the Festival Press Center;
2. Opportunities to participate in media events during the festival, such as press conferences, red carpet ceremonies, and media nights;
3. Access to select free screenings and participation in post-screening events;
4. Opportunities to interview attending stars, directors, and other distinguished guests;
5. Opportunities to cover the Masterclass, forums, open-air screenings, the Young Coconut Project, and other series of events;
6. The festival will provide a promotional materials package including images and text;
7. The Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) reserves the right of final interpretation.
Registration Guidelines
Registration Period
November 8, 2025, 19:00 to December 1, 24:00
Registration Method
Applicants must register via the Festival's official mini-program (HIIFF Hainan Island International Film Festival) and accurately fill in their personal information according to their media affiliation category.
Eligible Applicants
1. Editorial staff engaged in news gathering and editing at media organizations registered and filed with the National Radio and Television Administration and the Cyberspace Administration of China;
2. Staff in content-oriented positions such as editors, planners, coordinators, and operators employed by social media platforms;
3. Industry media and self-media, including: highly active self-media accounts and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) on online communities such as Douyin, Kuaishou, Weibo, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and WeChat Official Accounts/Video Accounts;
4. Foreign media journalists possessing relevant qualification certificates issued by foreign news organizations and holding journalist visas issued by Chinese foreign affairs departments.
Registration Process
1. Open the HIIFF official mini-program, click on "Media Registration", completely fill out and submit the registration information;
2. Upon successful submission of registration information, applicants will receive a confirmation email; after the Festival approves the application, applicants will receive an email confirming the review result;
3. Upon successful application, media personnel can view event information and make reservations for corresponding activities on the HIIFF official mini-program according to their privileges.
Important Notes
1. Please fill in all registration information completely and truthfully;
2. Festival media registration follows the principle of one credential per person; each user may apply for only one type of credential, and only one credential per type is allowed; registering for multiple types of credentials simultaneously is not permitted;
3. After submitting registration information, you may modify information other than contact details online via the mini-program; however, once the application is approved, no modifications to the registration information will be accepted;
