On the evening of December 10, the 6th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) successfully concluded in Sanya amidst dazzling lights and a vibrant atmosphere, presenting an annual cinematic feast that integrated entertainment, participation, and cultural richness for global filmmakers and art lovers.

With the theme "Ocean of Visions, Light of the Future," the festival showcased the integration of diverse cultures, promoted exchange and cooperation among international film professionals, and once again proved its status as a highly anticipated cultural event. The closing ceremony was star-studded, with numerous celebrity guests including Ni Ping, Xi Meijuan, Cecilia Yip, Angie Chiu, Zheng Xiyi, Leung Hon-man, Lin Xiaofeng, Zhang Xincheng, Xie Fei, Yang Zishan, Zhang Yishan, Gina Alice, Liu Yuanyuan, and Wu Mochou gathering together to witness the glorious moment of the festival's closing.
As the chief partner of the festival, Shanxi Xinghuacun Fenxing Distillery Co., Ltd. has upheld the traditional brewing techniques of Xinghuacun light-flavor baijiu since its establishment in 1979, adhering to ancient brewing methods and practicing the original brewing aspiration of "pursuing dreams and dancing with the light aroma." At the festival, Fenxing not only brought its premium baijiu, characterized by a refreshing body and pure aroma, to the attending guests, but also showcased the essence and elegance of traditional Chinese baijiu through this platform, offering guests a unique cultural experience.

The collaboration with HIIFF marks an important step for Fenxing on its path to internationalization. Through cross-border integration with the art of film, Fenxing has not only explored the possibilities of globalizing baijiu but also facilitated the global dissemination and promotion of Chinese liquor culture. During the festival, Fenxing's meticulous service was omnipresent—from the careful arrangements before film screenings to the warm hospitality at exchange forums, and the distinguished treatment at the awards gala—all reflecting its professional attitude and high-quality service.

This year's festival received 4,330 film submissions from 117 countries and regions, demonstrating the diversity and vitality of global filmmaking. Renowned French director Luc Besson served as the President of the Jury for the Golden Coconut Awards, providing strong assurance for the evaluation work with his profound cinematic expertise and unique artistic vision. Meanwhile, French actress Sophie Marceau and Chinese actor Ge You served as the Image Ambassador and New Year Ambassador respectively, and their participation added more international flair and a festive atmosphere to the festival.

In addition, the festival hosted a series of events including the opening and closing ceremonies, Golden Coconut Forum, and the Young Coconut Project Venture Camp, as well as special activities such as the screening of over a hundred outstanding Chinese and foreign films, a film-themed market, and meet-and-greets with new film crews. These activities not only provided rich and colorful cultural experiences for citizens and tourists but also showcased the eternal charm and continuous vitality of the art of film, using light and shadow to write the inclusive and open-minded spirit of Chinese culture.

HIIFF not only provided a platform for filmmakers and art lovers to showcase their talents and exchange ideas, but also injected new vitality into the inheritance and development of traditional liquor culture. The addition of Fenxing further enriched this cultural event, allowing global audiences to experience the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture while enjoying the art of film. Looking ahead, HIIFF will continue to uphold its open and inclusive philosophy, promote the prosperous development of the film industry, and provide more opportunities for exchange and cooperation for global filmmakers and art lovers.
