At the same time, let us welcome renowned actor Ge You as the New Year's Eve Ambassador to join everyone in opening this unique feast that perfectly blends cinema and the year-end atmosphere.
New Year's Eve Ambassador Ge You
Ge You is a Chinese mainland actor and a National First-Class Actor. His representative works include The Dream Factory, To Live, Big Shot's Funeral, Sorry Baby, If You Are the One, Let the Bullets Fly, Cell Phone, Cala, My Dog!, Sacrifice, and The Hedgehog, among others. He won the Best Actor Award at the 13th Golden Rooster Awards for Good Dream Comes True. He won the Best Actor Award at the 47th Cannes International Film Festival for the film To Live, becoming the first actor from the Chinese mainland to receive this award. He has won the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actor multiple times, as well as the Best Actor Award at the 14th China Film Huabiao Awards.
Ge You's performance style is unique and his acting is masterful, making him deeply loved by audiences. From the early The Dream Factory, which raised the curtain on local New Year's films, to Big Shot's Funeral, which sharply satirized social issues, and If You Are the One, which portrayed a romantic light comedy, many of his films are regarded as New Year's classics. The HIIFF Open-Air Screenings at this year's festival will also screen several films starring Ge You. We look forward to the New Year's Eve Ambassador bringing laughter to the audience at the HIIFF Open-Air Screenings while joining everyone to open the "New Year's Eve" celebration.
