On December 16, the 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) opened in Sanya, and HIIFF has become one of the main platforms for cooperation, exchange, and learning in the Chinese and international film industries. As a winery with over a century of history, Georgia's St. George Winery actively supported the 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival to enhance its brand influence.
Georgia's St. George Winery is a small winery with a long history. Through the joint efforts of everyone and an investment of tens of millions, it has passed down to the present day with a production capacity of 200,000 bottles per year. Its five existing wines are all classic fine vintages.
The team of St. George Winery is composed of members from both China and Georgia. The team members prioritize the dissemination of Chinese culture and are determined to bring the most classically significant wines from the birthplace of world wine to China. Compared to China's vast market, any wine from St. George Winery is a rare treat for only a select few.
The winery is located in the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia, which is one of the designated Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) wine regions of Georgia. It is sixty kilometers from the capital, Tbilisi, at the southwestern foot of the Tsiv-Gombori mountain range and on the left bank of the Iori river, with its own vineyards. The vineyards are bathed in the brilliant sunshine of the Caucasus, and the soil in this region is rich in carbonate alluvial soil. The main grape variety planted here is Saperavi, which can produce the finest quality wines in Kakheti. The location of the winery's vineyards is in a temperate zone, making it the last area in the Kakheti region to harvest, namely in early October. The climatic conditions at this time are almost perfect for wine fermentation, allowing the fermentation process to proceed entirely on its own. Based on the natural climate, the winery's winemakers will appropriately intervene in the fermentation process to achieve even more perfect standards.
St. George Winery adheres to natural philosophies such as naturalness, health, and primitiveness. It integrates the optimism and free-spiritedness of the Georgian nation, their sincerity towards the terroir, and the winemaking philosophy of ultimate purity and simplicity into every bottle of wine.
