Opening Countdown! The Main Venue of the 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) Will Enter the Rehearsal Stage

The 5th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF) is about to open, and staff are making intense preparations. It is reported that the main venue for the opening ceremony of this year's festival is set at the Shangri-La Resort Sanya, while the main venue for the closing ceremony is at Sanya Atlantis, both located outdoors. On December 12, reporters visited the main venues for the opening and closing ceremonies to check on the construction progress.

Stepping into the Shangri-La Resort Sanya, the main stage for the opening ceremony built on the lawn behind the hotel is visible from afar. The wave-shaped light pillars resemble surging waves, full of vitality. Golden coconut trees stand to the left of the stage, echoing the Golden Coconut Awards and highlighting Sanya's coastal charm. In front of the stage, a semi-elliptical screen in the very center is particularly striking. Various pieces of equipment are placed in front of the screen, and staff are busy assembling and debugging. "The construction of the main stage began on December 5 and is now basically complete. The lighting effect test for the illuminated structure of the audience entrance passage has also been partially completed," said Wu Junhao, a director from the festival's opening ceremony director team. Next, they will continue with debugging, decoration, and other finishing touches, soon entering the rehearsal phase.

The reporter learned from the closing ceremony director team that the construction of the main closing ceremony venue is currently 60% complete, having entered the stages of LED screen installation and equipment debugging. The closing ceremony stage is designed with the concept of "Tropical Rainforest · Island within an Island," aligning with Hainan Island's renowned island scenery. Utilizing existing natural conditions, it uses the "circle" as the core to connect all elements, consciously linking and integrating the stage and the audience to create an island for the festival's closing ceremony.

Under the blue sky and azure sea, beside the sailboat hotel, stars will gather. At that time, the glory of global filmmakers will shine alongside the island's scenery, building momentum for the closing ceremony awards, boosting the vigorous development of China's film industry, and adding luster to the cultural calling card of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
